About the creator
markitfor.me was created by me, Sean Carpenter. I created it because I needed a better way to keep track of web pages without having to remember tags or keep my favorites synchronized across multiple computers.
I also created it as a way to play with and learn some new technologies. The stuff I used includes:
- Front end: Ruby on Rails
- Relational Database (user information): PostgreSQL
- Document Database (marked pages): MongoDB
- Indexing and Search: Apache Solr
- Hosting: Rackspace Cloud
